:Trudi, While doing my research in Va. for the Fletchers I think I found what you are looking for. The 1850 census lists a George Fletcher, wife Ann, children William H and James. This may be the one for you. Do you have access to the census listings? This guy was a shoemaker and may be related to Alexander Fletcher, also a shoemaker at the same time in Fauquier County. Alexander is directly related to the family I am researching.
