They came from N.C. to Ohio and finally to Indiana around 1850. Edmund had nineteen children and we are trying to locate possible connections between various branchs of the Pettiford family with Edmund and his children. I am currenly seeking information on the decendants of his daughter Clarinda Pettiford Evans.She had a son named James T. Pettiford and James had sons named Alwill and Gurney, Charles,Leroy and Albert. I know that Gurney Pettiford,Sr. had a son named Gurney Pettiford,Jr. who died in Colorado, Gurney Sr. died in Detroit in 1974 his son died in 1977. Alwill Pettiford had a son named James Pettiford he died in 6/7/1999 in Florida. His children may live in Toronto , Canada. Charles died in Marion Indiana in 1905 and he was survived by a wife Eliza and five children one ofhis daughters was named Bessie Dean who was living in Ohio at the time of her fathers death.
