I'm in communications with John Gimmy, a descendant of Bernard Krauss, Leonard's brother, He sent me a copy of a will for a Leonard Krauss of Cecil County. I'm including it here for your review & comment:

I , Leonard Krauss of Cecil County and State of Maryland being weak of Body, but
of Sound and disposing mind memory and understanding considering the certainty
of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous of Settling
my worldly affairs do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form
following that is To Say, First I order and direct that my executors herein
after named Shall See all my personal property and also Sell all the Real Estate
which I now Possess, lying and being in the Sixth Election District of Cecil
County and the State of Maryland, together with all and Singular the Building
and appurtenances thereinto belonging, and out of the money arising from the
Sale of Said Real and personal Estate, I order and direst my Said Executors to
pay my Funeral Expenses and First debts and after payment thereof and Subject
thereto I give and Bequeath unto my children, That is to Say, Bernard Krauss,
heirs of George Krauss, Leonard Krauss, Anthon!
y Krauss, heirs of John Krauss, Joseph Krauss, Jacob Krauss, Thomas Krauss,
Henry Krauss, Eliza Harris wife of John Harris, and Sarah Enoch wife of Isaac
Enoch their heirs and assigns all the rest and residue of the money arising from
the Sale of both my Real and personal Estate, including the cash and hands at
the time of my death, and also including the debts arising owing to me to be
equally divided among my named children, in Equal portions, share and share
alike and to be paid to them in one year from the time of my decease. And lastly
I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Sons Bernard Krauss and Leonard
Krauss to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and
annulling all former wills by me heretofore made, and confirming This and none
other to be my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto Set
my hand and affixed my Seal this nineteenth day of July One Thousand Eight
hundred and fifty Seven.

John thinks this might be Leonard's father. It could be but I'm confused by all the different Krauss's mentioned in the will.
