My grandfather was Floyd Alexander, I never met him. He had 2 sons, my father, Bronson Raye Alexander born in Breckenridge Texas 1921 and James Floyd Alexander born 2 or 3 years later in Texas. My uncle Jim died in 1999. My father died 1987. Their mother was Artie Lee Stepp Alexander, she died at the age 95 and was born around 1905. I do not know when my grandfather died but he was in his 40s. They left Texas where they ranched until the dustbowl. Then the sons moved to California and Floyd and Artie worked as itinerant workers in Oklahoma where my grandfather probably died (I don't know the cause of death). James lived in the Fresno California area the remainder of his life and married Doris Smith around 1950. They had 2 children, Dyan and Gayne who are probably late 40s, early 50s in age, respectively. They have several children, Gayne has grandchildren now. Gayne is a Mormon and is likely to have studied the Alexander family geneology through the Church of the Latter Day Saints. I have been unable to get further information on the usual websites outside of the Mormon church. My father told us that his father's family originated in Ulster Ireland of Scottish descent. I did find a pedigree that might have led to my grandfather on Ancestry.com under Floyd Cornelius Alexander born March 27 1898 in Bell Texas, but I'm not sure it is him because his death was in 1956 (I don't think he was alive when my dad married my mom in 1954, she is Jerrolynn Thorson Alexander born 1934 in Logan Utah).
