My name is Ed Ashton from Perth, Ontario, Canada. I have just started tracing my family tree, and most of them originated from North Shefford Quebec. This is an area around Granby, and Waterloo Quebec. My Great, Great Grandfathers name was Robert P. Ashton, and his Wife's name was Mary Stone.
Robert P. Ashton was born in 1796, and died in 1877. His wife Mary Stone was born in 1806, and died in 1872. They may have come from Ireland, but I haven't found that out yet. They had seven children that I have records of.
Walker was born on June 1, 1830.
Mary Jane was born on December 24, 1837.
Eliza Ann was born on February 19, 1839.
Matthew, and Martha were twins, and were born on September 12, 1842.
Susan was born on August 13, 1845.
Daniel, my Great Grandfather, was born on February 28, 1848
Daniel had 6 children before his first wife, Viola Victoria Jones, died in 1890.
He had 4 more children with his second wife, Alida Catherine Jones.
Daisy May Ashton was born in 1873
Mary Winnifred Ashton was born in 1876, and died in 1893
William Jones Ashton was born in 1878
George Elliott Ashton was born in 1884 and died in the First World War. He is buried in England.
Frank Forest Ashton was born in 1885. He was my Grandfather.
Lena May was born in 1887.
Joseph Roy Ashton was born in 1899 and died when he was 9 days old.
Oscar Daniel Ashton was born in 1893.
Lyle Lindsey Ashton was born in 1902.
Mary Winnifred Ashton (2nd) was born in 1904.
Some of the family ended up in NewYork State, and Virginia.
