We are not of the negro race, but during our own search for family my husband came across an interesting bit of info. One of his ancestors was "left" to a black man. We have often wondered if this could be one of the ways the black Sirmons family got this name. Anyway, if you would like this bit of information please contact him at rsirmons@atmc.net
