Dear List,

My query comes to you from Australia....this distance makes research very difficult - as we have no access to records. I would appreciate any assistance or advice in trying to locate my ancestors.

My ggg grandfather was WILLIAM FONES - born 1764 at Nth Kingston (perhaps) and ddefinitely Rhode Island.
He enlisted in the Rhode Island Militia for the Revolutionary War in 1778 - he was fourteen at the time. He later married DORCAS SHERMAN - (also of Rhode Island. They settled in Wales Center NY - where they both of died in their senior years and were buried.

Any assistance with either William or his wife Dorcas would be greatly appreciated.
