John and Lula Ross Webster lived at Comby Mississippi
where they made their home during the first quarter of the 20th century. John Webster died in 1952
in Mississippi. Lula Ross Webster.. died in 1955 in JacKson, Mississippi
Mrs. Webster taught school in Blytheville,Arkansas afterMr. Webster suffered a stroke. Mr. Webster
wrote a newspaper column for ( I think) The
Press Scimeter. He was a staunch civil righter
and was called subverse becauseof his beliefs
that would advance the black race. He was indeed7
a head of his time. He was a contributer of land
and lumber along with mr. Everett from Braxton , MS
for the beginning of The Piney Woods School.
DR. Lawrence C. Jones approached Mr. Everett and
Mr. Webster.Dr. Jones continued to be a close friend
of John Webster . Lawrence Jones visited John Webster
at our home in Jackson ,MS
