Searching for Sgt. Charles William Ford:
FORD - Sgt. Charles William, born in Ireland Nov. 3, 1899, [Place name unknown.] He came to Canada between 1920 - 1922. He married Flora Barr Benson (deceased) in St. Catharines Ontario on Nov. 20, 1925 and they lived at 12 Chestnut St. They were married by the Reverend A.B. Reekie [Baptist] who lived at R.R. 3 St. Catharines. Their attendants were Robert and Isobel M. Davies who lived at 11 St. George St. in St. Catharines. They moved to Toronto, Ontario and lived at 34 Saulter St. They had 3 sons Charles William Ford born in 1927, John Marshall Benson Ford born in 1929 and Ernest George Ford born in 1931. His occupation was Trucker and he worked for Smith Transport Ltd. in Ontario and Saskatchewan. He enlisted into the City of London Yeomanry (Rough Riders) Embodied Territorial Force November 18, 1915. He transferred to the Royal Field Artillery (60th Divisional Ammunition Column) on March 11, 1916. He was a Sgt. in the Royal Field Artillery BEF WW1 and served in France, Alexandria and Salonika from 1916 to 1919 Regimental Number 970677. He was discharged on Demobilization (Gnr) from the British Forces on March 31, 1920. We moved to Oshawa Ontario and lived at 42 Jackson St. until approximately the year 1940 and we then moved to 165 Annis St. and then 264 Annis St. in Oshawa Ontario. “He” then moved to Moosejaw, Saskatchewan in the early 1940's. Last known address in 1947, 105 Lillooet St.,W. Apt. 16, Moosejaw, Saskatchewan. He had a sister Ada Ford who lived at 93 Compton Road, Brighton U.K. in 1915. His Fathers name was Charles William Ford and his Mothers name was Caroline [Ainger] Ford. His parents were born in Ireland [Place name unknown].
