hello: I live in canada and am a descendant of
Charles Suggitt 1903-1978 his father William
was the son of William who emigrated to canada
from England in late 1800' with brother Richard.
Have lots of info as Ray/Mary/Merv/Pear all have
detailed family history.
: Hello,
: This probably does not help much, but it just so happens that *my* father is a John William Suggitt, born somewhere around 1914-1920. I believe that *his* father was also a John William. They lived in Cleckheaton in Yorkshire, though my father left there in 194x to join the RAF (where he met his future wife).
: There is also some talk of 'someone who moved to Canada' but I dont recall the details.
: I was at the science museum in London last month... they have a display that lets you enter your family name.. it then displays a map showing the locations where the name occurs. I believe they use a current electoral role, and Victorian census information (1880 or there abouts). The 1880 display shows that just about *all* the Suggitt's were in North Yorkshire.
: Regards
: Richard Suggitt
