My great grandfather was William Shehen or Shehan and he married a lady named Jane Whitaker. They were married about the late 1870's or the year 1880. They had 3 children that I know of. Their names were Bessie Henretta Shehen and her twin brother Francis or Frank Shehen and Bertha Shehen. Bessie and her twin Frank were born 4-30-1881 in Lancaster, S.C. No date of birth for Bertha. I believe William died while the children were still young as Jane remarried a man named George King and he helped her raise the children. At some point they moved to Laurinburg, N.C. I know that Bessie married Aaron Evers from Elizabethtown, N.C. and they had 5 children in Laurinburg before she and Aaron moved on to Durham, N.C. I was told that Jane Whitaker's mother and father were named Levie/Levi Whitaker and Sarah (no last name for her. If any of this information sounds familiar, please e-mail me. I thank you in advance.
