My great-grandmother, Winefred Lacey was born near Clifden,Ireland. She left when she was 12 years old along with her sister, Barbara. An aunt (unknown name) was to care for them in Louisville, Kentucky. It is written that she helped take care of smallpox cases during the civil war.

During this time, her sister married Tom Lyden and to this marriage, a daughter, Bridget was born. Shortly after, they moved to Sparta or near there at Melvina, Wisconsin taking Winefred with them. Winefred married Michael Shinnick in Melvina, Wisconsin March 4, 1876.

I am looking for information regarding her ancestors from Ireland as well as further information on her sister Barbara. If you have information regarding these individuals, please share them with me. I more historical information regarding Winefred and her travels to the US which I will be glad to share.
