RE: Searching for information on Alexander Benjamin DuBois b1845 and his wife Mary Catherine Campbell b. 1853. Married 1881. Had a son Joseph Christian DuBois b1882 in Broxton Township, Colleton Co. SC. Especially would like to know name of a male blood relative to Mary. It's as though she only ever existed as a name with no substance at all! Also recently learned that Joseph had a half brother named Ham Dubois. Anyone out there related to this person? Would love to here from you!
: thanks, KD
I may have a connection for your Mary CAMPBELL.
She is listed on the 1860 SC Census of Colleton Co., St Bartholomew Parish.
1860 SC Census
St Bartholomew's Parish, Colleton Co. pg #305
Barnwell BEARD; age 25 (b. 1835)
Ann( CAMPBELL); age 20 (b. 1840)
Rebecca; age 8 (b. 1852)
Martha; age 6 (b. 1854)
Ann; age 4 (b. 1856)
living nextdoor:
CAMPBELL, Martin; 30 (b.c. 1830); farmer (can't read or write)
Elizabeth (PADGETT); 25 (b.c. 1835)
Sarah; 8 (b.c. 1852)
Mary; 6 (b.c. 1853)*
Ann; 4 (b.c. 1856)
Elizabeth; 2 (b.c. 1858)
I am related to Ann CAMPBELL and Barney BEARD. Ann was Mary's Aunt. There was also James Martin CAMPBELL b.c. 1862, Mary's brother. I am just getting into this line to see if I can find more info on Mary's grandparents whom thus far appear to be Wm & Elizabeth CAMPBELL.
Hope you are still online and receive this message. There is also another CAMPBELL researcher who is related to Mary's sister Henrietta.
Look forward to a response,
Janet
